Batavia Nursery School is sponsored by the Congregational Church of Batavia. It is a non-profit organization with enrollment open to all children, regardless of religious affiliation. All our programs conform to the standards set by DCFS.
We believe in the whole child development (learning through social, emotional, physical, intellectual, and verbal experiences), which provides a safe and fun place for learning. Our school enjoys a long-standing reputation in our community for successfully preparing children for kindergarten. Our emphasis is on basic building blocks for reading readiness, which includes a strong phonetic approach including lots of hand-on experiences in math, science, and literature as well as art and music. Lots of opportunities are provided for gross motor activities, including free play!
Since its inception, Batavia Nursery School has been staffed with teachers possessing bachelor's degrees from 4-year colleges. All teachers are carefully screened and selected on the basis of their educational experience and caring attitude. Each year teachers continue their education through attendance at conferences that enhance their effectiveness. To learn more about our teachers, please click here.
